In the era of 21st century, rapid urbanisation, climate change, increased population, scarcity water and dry land are factors responsible for worldwide agricultural nutritional challenges. As a widely cultivated popular grain in arid semiarid regions across globe, Millets can act as multifaceted solution to above global challenges because their rich vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals anti-oxidant content. addition source flavanoids such apigenin, catechin, daisein, orientin, isoorientin, lutolin, quercetin, vitexin, isovitexin, myricetin sponarin, violanthin, lucenin-1, tricin. Further, presence essential amino acids enriches nutritive potential Millets. The content reduces oxidative stress human animal models by significantly minimizing Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) generation. Several bioactive principles known decrease cardiovascular risk, diabetes, ageing even cancer. However, therapeutic potentials compounds found underexplored systematic review encompassing available data literature is grossly missing. aim this compile recent advances that have been carried out covering properties, processing technologies effects reducing anti-nutritional enhancing nutrient bioavailability along with health benefits millets. Consumption various traditional modern millet based food studies conducted examining minerals after consuming also discussed review.
